Human Worth are proud to present the debut album I Wish You Every Success from Fashion Tips, produced by Anthony Chapman (Collapsed Lung, Mclusky, Bis, Skinned Teen) with a portion of proceeds donated to charity.
North East England-based dance punks Fashion Tips have made a name for themselves working primarily in the medium of fuzzed-out bass grooves, cracked machines and jacked electro beats, topped with hysterical, sarcastic vocal sass and sheets of mangled guitar chaos. Formed by bass player Liam Slack and guitarist Jorden Sayer, vocalist Esme Louise Newman was soon recruited through her involvement in several prior underground projects - including the acclaimed black metal duo Penance Stare. After original drummer Ruben left the group in 2023, sampler Fiona Ireland was hired to help manage the band's growing arsenal of sonic weaponry. Fashion Tips' music draws clear influence from no wave, noise rock, dance punk, electroclash, riot grrrl, and queercore movements, whilst also incorporating aspects of UK bass music such as jungle breakbeats and grimy sub bass into their "sasswave" aesthetic.
Since forming in late 2022, the band have released an acclaimed debut EP (mixed and mastered by Freddy Vinehill-Cliffe of fellow synth-punks and tour-mates Thank) which drew praise from outlets such as the Quietus, Full Time Aesthetic and Aural Aggravation, gained a reputation for their intense, high-energy live performances on stages supporting Mclusky, Greg Puciato, Ian Svenonius, as well as many fiery encounters in their local DIY scene, and picking up airplay from BBC Introducing North East and Spark Sunderland. Around the release of the album, FT have booked a short UK tour, and will be appearing at this summer's Supernormal festival in Oxfordshire, with further live dates throughout the year.
Their debut album, I Wish You Every success, is released July 20th through Human Worth (Torpor, Beige Palace, Modern Technology) with 10% of proceeds donated to the North East Autism Society - providing autism care and education for children, young people, and adults across the North-East of England.
