Matt Maltese - Songs That Aren't Mine (LP)

Matt Maltese returns with a new album of covers titled Songs That Aren't Mine, dropping on 8th March 2024. Kiss Me, originally made famous by Sixpence None the Richer, is the first single from the album, and the record features songs from a diverse cast of musical inspirations.

Maltese says: "Songs That Aren't Mine is an album of all my favourite songs since childhood, recorded at home with friends last year. In the early part of last summer, I reconnected with the first producer I ever worked with - Alex Burey - and we started playing around with versions of other people's songs for fun. It started off as a kind of escape from the album-writing cycles my life is often shaped by, and then of course we took it too far and made a whole album. There was something very satisfying about approaching songs I hadn't written with the same attention arrangement/production wise as I do my own songs. It felt like both an expression of myself but also a homage to others."
