In 1969, Deep Purple premiered Jon Lord's groundbreaking Concerto For Group and Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. 30 years later, in September 1999, the band returned to the same venue for the concerto's second performance, backed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The centrepiece of the concert is of course the concerto itself, but it is preceded by a short set of other Jon Lord tracks, songs from Roger Glover's Butterfly Ball (sung by Ronnie James Dio) and Ian Paice's jazz arrangement of the early Purple classic Wring That Neck. Following the concerts, meanwhile, are five Deep Purple classics, culminating with the iconic Smoke On The Water.
