Released in 1979, Metal Box is the classic second album from Public Image Limited. The record was a departure from PiL's relatively conventional debut First Issue, and saw them moving to a more avant-garde sound characterised by John Lydon's cryptic vocals, propulsive dub-inspired rhythms led by bassist Jah Wobble, and an abrasive, "metallic" guitar sound developed by Keith Levene.

Now, the record is being reissued in this new 4CD box set, which features the original album alongside rare and previously unreleased material and a live disc. The set is issued in a square metal tin with an embossed PiL logo. Also included are a 72 page booklet, together with an exclusive poster and postcards.
