My Dying Bride are undisputed legends of the UK doom metal scene, having unleashed a constant stream of releases over more than 25 years.

Unveiled in 1991, Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium was the band's first studio release for Peaceville Records, and an introduction for many to the fledgling genre. Utilising an effective mix of Celtic Frost and Candlemass among others, My Dying Bride instilled an immense atmosphere of foreboding and dread with a concoction of brooding riffs, among themes of sex and death with religious overtones. The implementation of violin, an unusual addition at the time, only heightened the sense of atmosphere, and helped distinguish the band further from their peers.

This reissue if the first time the EP has been available on vinyl since its initial release, and also marks the first time that God Is Alone and De Sade Soliloquay have appeared on vinyl, having previously been exclusive to the CD format.
